Woodland Burial Park Wins Green Apple Award

The Green Apple Awards are awarded annually and are organised by the Green Organisation (www.thegreenorganisation.info), an independent, non-political, non-activist, non-profit environment group dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world.

The Awards scheme is one of the most important for environmental recognition, both in the UK and internationally, and represents one of the few accredited feeder schemes into the European Business Awards, for which Woodland Burial Parks is also being entered.

The Green Apple Awards are now in their sixteenth year and attracted more than 500 nominations this year. They are supported by – among other environmental bodies – the Environment Agency, The Chartered Institution of Waste Management, The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, The Ecology Building Society, Go4Green and the Municipal Journal.

Following on from the award, Woodland Burial Parks has also opted to join the National Green Heroes scheme, an elite group of environmental achievers who use their experience to help thousands of others – and the environment – around the world. This will mean that the company’s application document will be published in The Green Book, the only annual reference work on environmental best practice.

The awards will be presented by Alexandra Bastedo at the House of Commons on Tuesday 17 November.
